PS One Emerald Memory Card Review
With the introduction of the PS2 slim model, came the controversy of which old PSone memory cards still worked in the latest reinvisionment. Not many rest assured, making our search for compatable cards an issue. The Sony brand PSone memory cards however DO work quite well. Another problem you’ll face (which would otherwise be a minor issue except that your choice for memory has been reduced on top of things) is in the size of PSone memory cards themselves. Spanning a little over just 260 kb in total space (or 15 blocks) it won’t take very much to max out a card. Unfortunately this means that if your into hardcore gaming with PSone titles, and own the PS2 slim model, you’ll need to carry 2 or more cards at all times. I recommend this brand to ensure there are no kinks and bugs that come with 3rd party memory cards, which create corrupt save data issues, and also because they make your search for cards that DO work on the slim model easier. If not for those two major reasons however, I would have knocked the rating down to a 2 or 3!
