After using this card for one day, it crashed and was completely inaccessible to any card reader or camera. I lost about 100 important photos. Usually when this happens, you can recover the data using some of the various SD recovery programs online, but because this card was completely “dead” I couldn’t even access the card at all. I researched online for a bit and many other people have had problems with this brand of card.I would only recommend this if you don’t mind losing important photos or data.

What more can I say? I’ve been using SD cards for several years. ALL my computer docs and data go directly on the card. It is a great way to keep a lean, fast-running computer without the hassle of CD’s. Once a week I back-up and sync my existing SD card with a second card. I simply plug two card readers into my computer. With a few clicks I’m done. Also, it’s a good idea to defrag your memory cards once in a while just like your main hard drive.

I bought the Pelican 940 Compact Flash Memory Card Caseto replace a plastic compact flash case that is similar to another one sold on Amazon. That one had lasted me for 3 or 4 years but was being held together by duct tape until I finally tripped and crushed it to splinters. So I went searching for a replacement and stumbled upon the Pelican brand.

I’ve known of the Pelican brand for years, but I didn’t realize they made a CF card case. Pelican is trusted by many professional photographers to protect their cameras,lenses and accessories when traveling or shipping items across the country and across international borders. If a professional photographer is going to trust their tens of thousands of dollars of equipment, I’m willing to trust my compact flash cards to them as well.

The case I wanted to replace my old card carrier needed to be sturdy, fairly light weight and hold at least 4 cards. The pelican is a little heavier than I want, but I know it is sturdier than what I was using. It is intended to hold 4 CF cards but you can easily fit in 6 stacked 3 in 2 rows. I’ve put 5 cards in the holder so far without a problem.

The clasp to hold the case shut is outstanding. It overlaps the lip of the opposing side and seals tight to tight. I believe it is rated to withstand being submerged under water. All though I don’t intend to do this, i feel secure that the case won’t allow my cards to be damaged.

The only thing on my wishlist for this item would be a window to see the cards inside the case. I often rotate cards based on whether they are filled or not and it would save me from opening the case if I knew all of the cards were filled or if there was an open slot. This is minor though, and I could always figure out another way of knowing this information.

The case came with an insert to replace one of the side CF card carriers in case you had a pcmcia card you wanted the case to hold.

I’ve used this product for the past 3 weeks, 5 days a week, and love it. I can even slip a few business cards in it to help in case I lose it or need to pass them out.

When I’m in need of another compact flash case, I’m going to buy another Pelican Compact Flash Memory Card Case. Heck I’d buy 2 more just because I love it so much.

I used this card for about two to three weeks and I find it to be very good in the Nikon D90 camera.The Nikon D90 User’s Manual gives two companies for the 16GB and 32GB memory cards (Toshiba and Panasonic).This card is much lower in price, and I have not experience any problems.

I purchased this card for my Canon 7D DSLR and it’s video mode (1080p). Since the camera consumes about 4GB per 12 minute clip, this card is good for around 48 minutes of 1080p 30/24 or 720p 60 video. The card appears fast enough to keep up with the high bitrate capture of the 7D’s video mode. Be warned, however, it is not fast enough for continuous (high-speed) JPEG and/or JPEG-RAW capture. The 7D can be a speed demon at up to 8fps at full resolution. I also have Sandisk Extreme III cards (30MB/s) and they are noticeably faster. I can fill the buffer with the Kingston card, but not the Sandisk.

That said, this card is about 1/2 the price of the Sandisk Extreme, and since I mainly wanted the card for HD Video capture, it performs up to my expectations. I’ve also had a 16GB version of this card for over a year and used it with my Canon 50D with no issues.

I have NOT experienced any data corruption issues with this 32GB card or the 16GB card I’ve had for over a year. I would not hesitate in buying another one and plan on it very soon.

First off, let me say this product works as described, having 16GB worth of storage is great, I put my entire unprotected music library on it (Amazon MP3s and iTunes Plus AACs without DRM) so that I could use it on my Blackberry Bold cellphone and skip the iPhone. Music and video stream just fine off of it. Class 2 SDHC cards run at minimum 2MB/s and I doubt you’ll run into any instances where you won’t be able to play media files off it.

Make sure your cell phone device can support 16GB micro SDHC cards before buying, some can’t. Most card readers should be able to handle it as it comes with an SD adapter and I had no problem writing to it with my old Sony multi-card reader I got a couple years ago.

That being said, Class 2 is slower than I’d prefer for transferring large files back and forth (for small files like documents you’ll hardly notice). If they had a Class 4 16GB available I would have paid a little extra for it, but Class 2 was the only thing available. If you plan on just copying over music once in a while, this shouldn’t be much of an issue. But if you are constantly moving video files, it can get annoying.

If I could go back, I’d get a Kingston 8GB Class 4 (4MB/s) micro SDHC for half the price and half the wait, at least until they release a faster 16GB card.
